The first US rehab for internet and video game addiction just opened. It is in Washington state and the 45-day program costs $14,500. What!? I'll just stay addicted. The place is called Heavensfield Retreat Center. They make you go cold turkey with no technology at all. Doesn't sound like heaven to me! My heaven has cell phones and the internet. Lotion Haters Unite

I hate lotion. I have found that I seem to be in the minority on that one. I have dry skin but I hate the way lotion feels all slimey and gooey. Ick. I recently found this new great cream that is light and not thick and gooey but still does the job. It seems to disappear quickly but makes your skin feel soft. It is called Hawaiian Moon Aloe. I was talked into buying it at a booth "informercial style" and I usually never consider even listening to anything like that, however my daughter has problems with eczema and the signs said it would help with that. It is somewhat helpful with that, but it's really just a great lotion for everyday use. It doesn't really have a fragrance either as I am also a fragrance hater. So, if you are one of the few lotion haters, check out this cream.

I have never had a word of the day post and don't plan to make it a weekly thing, but I have a new favorite word (and nothing else to write about today honestly)! It involves a funny story, but it's too long to explain and probably wouldn't be funny in writing. So, go out today and use this word. I'm sure you come across a lot of them throughout the day. Yuck?

There was an article on AOL Food recently about the top 20 foods people think are gross. Over 78,000 people participated in the poll and many of the foods on the list were very surprising to me. I like a lot of the foods that are considered gross! These were not a surprise to me...onions (my personal pick for grossest food), liver, beets, and mayonnaise. A few of my favorites made the gross list...mushrooms, okra, lima beans, and blueberries. Blueberries, gross? See the rest of the list here.

If I can get myself to wear an opened toed boot or bootie this fall, maybe I'll start with this one. I like it a lot, but I just can't get used to the open toe boot for myself. I saw this dish in the Williams-Sonoma catalog the other day. It looks yummy! I haven't tried it yet because I hate to cook, but I love to eat. I wish someone would just make it for me! You can find the recipe here.

John Hughes passed away yesterday. He was a writer and director and was responsible for many of my favorite movies. He was THE director of 80s teen movies. "Sixteen Candles"....oh that Jake Ryan, "Pretty in Pink"...Ducky!, the classic "The Breakfast Club," and one of my all time favorites "Some Kind of Wonderful"...they were always for you. Uh! I love love love his movies, especially since I do have a slight obsession with the 80s. I didn't even know he was behind "Home Alone," "Planes, Trains and Automobiles," and "Ferris Beuller's Day Off." What a talented guy and only 59.

WeightMirror

I probably should not condone or promote this evil website, but sadly, I find it kind of interesting. WeightMirror allows you to download a photo of yourself and then see what you would look like up to 50 pounds lighter or 20 pounds heavier. I haven't tried it because I am too lazy to find and upload a photo and the results might send me into depression, but what I wish I could do is download every photo I ever take and run it through there before allowing others to see it. Now that would be a great service! Yet another thing to make women obsess over their weight, and here I am feeding into it. Damn them! You know you want to check it out though.

Now I have Michael Jackson's song Man in the Mirror stuck in my head....and now so do you. (RIP Michael!)
