A Girl Can Dream

I usually don't remember having dreams at night, but I have been having some very strange ones lately. The other night I dreamt that George Clooney was after me with a stun gun. First of all, I'm not even a big George Clooney fan. I mean I'm not blind, I get it, but he's not someone I pay much attention to. Anyway, he was after me with a stun gun and I was trapped on an entire floor of a hotel or office building and I was just frantically trying to get away. Number 1-George, you don't need the stun gun. I will surrender. Number 2 - Why was I running?!

George! Come back! I'll leave the door open!

Sprinkles!

The cupcake bakery Sprinkles has arrived in Houston! It was the first cupcake bakery and the first shop was in Beverly Hills. Sprinkles is very big in LA and it has finally arrive in Houston. I tried one (OK a few) yesterday and they were yummy. They are a cross between Crave and Dessert Gallery. They are not as sweet and sugary as Dessert Gallery cake but a little more sweet and sugary than Crave cupcakes. They are not as dense as Crave cupcakes but they have pretty much the same look. The store is super tiny and they aren't cheap, but definitely worth trying! The store is on Westheimer in Highland Village, across from Crate and Barrel. Yum!

This is THE BEST thing I have ever found for zits. Seriously, it is like a miracle. If you have a pimple or a spot that looks like one is about to pop up, just put this on it and it will be gone by morning. Amazing! Neutrogena Acne Stress Control.

Book Recommendation

I am currently reading this book, How to Be Rich and Happy. It is pretty good. Of course, I don't think I am going to suddenly be rich afterward but it has a lot of good information. Very interesting. Check it out here.

Fudge Jumbles!

Can someone please tell me they remember Fudge Jumbles. It was a mix you bought at the store that made these cookie/cake type brownies. So good! Very 80s. No one I asks remembers, so to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I did a search and found this link about them. At least I know someone remembers them now and they really did exist! Someone posted this recipe for those of us that miss Fudge Jumbles. I haven't tried it yet but I plan to soon.

FUDGE JUMBLIES RECIPE
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick oatmeal
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and mix. Add vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt, stir. Add oatmeal and stir. Spread 2/3 of mixture in a greased 9 x 12 pan. Melt in microwave sweetened milk, chocolate chips, butter, salt. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Pour over mixture in pan. Drop remaining dough in dots over chocolate mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Balls!

Cake balls that is! I am a little behind with this trend. I know I read an article about them a while back but never really thought about it again. Well my cousin made some and brought a few over yesterday and they are delicious! I can't wait to make some! They pretty much consist of torn up cake mashed together with frosting which are formed into balls and dipped in chocolate. You can use a store bought cake mix, a tub of frosting and chocolate bark for melting. Simple, yet yummy! Click here for the recipe she used. Rice to Riches

I just got back from New York City and I visited one of my favorite places while I was there, Rice to Riches. It sells flavored rice pudding! OK if that doesn't sound good to you, it didn't to me either the first time I went. I have never liked rice pudding, but once I had it there I was hooked. This time I had Almond Shlamond. Just a few of their flavors include Take me to Tiramisu, Sex Drugs and Rocky Road, Chocolate Chip Flirt, Cocunut Coma, Cinnamon Sling and Fluent in French Toast. It is set up like an ice cream shop and they even have toppings. The pudding also comes in the cutest reusable containers. You really should stop in if you are in New York City's SoHo area!

I may have to have another wedding so I can wear these! It's the Lauren James Ava Sandal from Nordstrom, $105. I went for the more sensible lower heel when I got married so I could dance the night away, but these make me think the pain would have been worth it.

Froberg Farms

If you live in or around the Houston area, a great place to take your kids is Froberg Farms. Right now it is strawberry season and you can pick your own strawberries. So much fun! I highly recommend visiting. Go soon because strawberry season only lasts through May!
