My Confession...
So if I were to rob a cradle, it would be that of Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. Yes the teeny bopper boy band boy (in the middle above). He is 18 by the way, just so we are clear that I'm not totally nuts. Really though I just think he is a cutie. Now that's not even my confession. Here it is....I waited outside a hotel for the Jonas Brothers! It's not as bad as it sounds really. It was only for 15 minutes and totally not premeditated, which I think makes it a little less stalker like. We were in New York City over the weekend to meet my new nephew. As we were walking by the Trump Hotel, I noticed a ton of teenage girls lurking around. There was a pack of them behind a police barricade and even more across the street. I told my husband, they must be waiting for someone like the Jonas Brothers. I don't even know what the Jonas Brothers sing or how exactly they are famous. I just know I see them on TV all the time and the one named Joe is what some (mainly 13 year old girls) might call...a hottie! I stopped and asked one of the teeny bopper girls who they were waiting for and of course she says, the Jonas Brothers! We waited around for about 15 minutes to see if we could catch them coming out and maybe get a picture from across the street, but they never came out so we went on our way. Joe Jonas escaped with cradle intact....for now.

Cute Stuff!
Take a look at this cutie! She is wearing a Sweet 'n Sassy Baby birthday hat. Her birthday isn't until December, but her mom bought her hat early so they could take some great pictures for the birthday party invitation. She was kind enough to share this picture with us. Could she be any cuter?! We hope she has a great 1st birthday!

Product Recommendation: No Spill Bottle Caps
I found these at Right Start and really like them. They come in a pack of three different ones to fit different types of juice and water bottles. My daughter is obsessed with water bottles. She loves to play with them and wants to drink from them but it is difficult and messy. These caps screw on top and then you can squirt the water out but they don't leak. You just have to make sure to figure out the right one for the bottle you are using. I think they would be great for older kids using juice bottles too.

Trend Watch: Sweater Dresses
Sweater dresses come and go but they are everywhere right now. You will see them on the runway, in the most upscale boutiques, at stores such as Banana Republic and even at Target. They are also all over the little girl's section of many stores. In the past most sweater dresses were very fitted and often hard to pull off if you weren't super skinny. They now come in many different styles so you can surely find one to flatter your figure!

Great Musician: Adele
I saw this wonderful singer on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. Her name is Adele and she is a 20 year old musician from London. She describes her music as "heartbroken soul," and says some of her influences are Etta James and Dusty Springfield. She has a wonderful voice. I had never heard of her before but I am now a fan. You can read more about her and hear her music on her website.

Etsy Feature: Custom Dog Bandanas
Don't let the name of this shop fool you! They do carry the cutest custom dog bandanas and other accessories for your pet, but they also make custom photo puzzles. I ordered one and I love it! My daughter loved this large photo I had made to hang on the wall for her 1st birthday party. She wanted to touch it and play with it, but I didn't want her to ruin it, so I sent it to Katie at Custom Dog Bandanas and she made it into a puzzle for my daughter. She did it in 10 extra large pieces since my daughter is fairly young. She will also do smaller pieces for older children or even smaller pieces for adults. These puzzles make great gifts! The customer service was excellent with great communication and quick shipping! You can visit her shop at Custom Dog Bandanas to check out all the pet accessories, custom photo puzzles, and more.

Great New TV Show: The Ex List
Yes, I talk a lot about great new TV shows. I like my TV! The Ex List was on last night. It is a new show this season and the only reason I decided to write about it is because when it was over my husband said, "that’s a good show." I love it but I couldn’t believe he liked it. He never likes this type of show and we never like the same shows. It is about a girl who is told by a psychic that she must get married within a year or she will never get married, and the person she will marry is one of her exes. She spends the episodes getting back in touch with all of her exes and trying to find "the one." It is really cute and funny. The star of the show was on Grey’s Anatomy (if you watch that show) as the pregnant Jane Doe girl who got hurt and disfigured in an explosion then ended up dating Dr. Karev, going crazy, faking a pregnancy and slitting her wrists. Don’t worry, she’s super cute and funny in this show! The supporting cast is also extremely funny and witty, especially the girl who plays her sister. You should check it out on Friday nights.

Socks That Rock!
My nephew was born last night so I thought I’d write about these great socks for newborns. They seem to be very popular so you may already know about them. I discovered them when my daughter was born because no socks would stay on her tiny feet. These are the only ones that would stay on, and they are cute too. It always looked like she had on coordinating shoes with her outfit because she had ones that looked like little mary janes or slippers. They come in many different styles for girls and boys…camouflage, golf shoes, ballet shoes, cowboy boots, and more. They are by a company called Trumpette. These socks were one of my favorite baby items. They also make great gifts for new babies!

Neil Rocks!
So it is said that there are two people in this world, those who like Neil Diamond and those who don’t. Well I like him! A lot! I went to his concert last night and Neil can still bring down the house. He is 67 years old and puts on a great show. The place was packed and his fans are crazy for him. If you don’t like Neil Diamond, and there are a lot of you, you should see the movie Saving Silverman. It may change your mind. If not, it’s a pretty funny movie anyway. He's also a very generous guy. All proceeds from merchandise sales last night went to The Gulf Coast Hurricane Ike Relief Fund, and he planned to match that with his own money.

Trend Watch: Boho
What is Boho? Boho is short for Bohemian. It involves flowing, tiered skirts, an ethnic flair, wood jewelry, bangles and fringed handbags. The look usually has lots of layers and colors. It comes and goes often but usually with a different twist. You’ll now hear it called Nouveau Boho, Boho Glam, Modern Boho, and Boho Chic. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are known for wearing the grunge or hippie version in the past, but this season throws in a little glam.

Emergency Cupcakes
I didn’t know they made these and I just found them at Kroger’s. Now of course I am a cupcake connoisseur so I would much rather have a homemade cupcake or one from a great little cupcake bakery, but sometimes you just need a cupcake now! I am keeping these in the refrigerator for that type of emergency. Maybe you have had a particularly hard day and the kids are finally in bed and you just need a cupcake, or it’s late at night and you come across Hope Floats on TV and you are depressed because Harry Connick Jr has not come to sweep you off your feet and away to his pick up truck yet. Sometimes you just need a cupcake! Maybe your kids forgot to tell you they need to take cupcakes to school tomorrow and it is 10 pm. It seems like these emergency cupcakes can come in handy. We will see what makes me break them out. My bet is on a near nervous breakdown caused by a 16 month old. Cupcakes make everything better!

It's My Perogative!
This is a conversation I had with my husband after someone (not my husband) questioned me on an issue regarding my daughter. (In order to protect the guilty, I cannot go into further details about that.)
Me: (livid and screaming) "She's my daughter and if I want to paint her pink and dye her hair red then I can!"
My husband: (in his most serious voice) "Um...I'd be opposed to that."
So I had to laugh.
*Disclaimer: I was just trying to make a point. I assure you I do not plan to paint my daughter pink nor dye her hair red so there is no need to call CPS, however, if I did for some reason decide to do so, I promise to only use all natural soy-based paint and dye purchased from an Etsy seller. I'd also come up with a much cuter color combination.
You have a Bobby Brown song stuck in your head now don't you? And apparently it's really spelled prerogative. I learned something new.

Product Recommendation: Stay-Put Suction Bowls
I bought these bowls over the weekend at Right Start. My daughter wants to feed herself now but has a hard time getting the food out of the bowl or off of the plate and usually would rather just toss the dish on the ground. These bowls have a large suction cup on the bottom. They are really great. The bowl stays put and she has a much easier time getting the food out because it is not moving all over the place. They don't budge unless you take them off. I love them! Less mess too! They are as much for me as they are for her! These are Munchkin brand and come in a pack of 3 different sizes. They are also BPA free. You can see more information about them on the Munchkin website.
